I agree with a lot of this article. Just want to add a few comments.
1) I went to a show last week and was totally stressed out trying to take pictures for work. I didn’t even really SEE the clothes because I was too busy fussing over my camera and getting annoyed with the bad quality.
2) Taking time to evaluate and process our thoughts is so important. Also loads less stressful.
3) People do wear crazy shit. Dressing crazy for fashion week is like wearing Christmas sweaters in December. It’s the reason for the season! I don’t think it’s making street style less authentic. People don’t get gussied up everyday!
4) People bragging about who they saw at shows is nothing new. Maybe this is less annoying for me since this is how my generation works and social media is our second language. However, I’m always going to be jealous of those who sit front row at Rodarte — whether they tweet about it or not.
